Sarek is a well-known Swedish group that mixes pop, dance rhythms and influences from Swedish folk music. The group consists of the three singers Zara, Stina and Jessica and the two musicians Göran (flutes and percussions) and Kristofer (nyckelharpa, accordion and hurdy-gurdy.)
Sarek has competed in ESC Sweden two times (2003 and 2004) and has by this time sold almost 40.000 albums.
Sareks music is a mix between lyrics written in a vivid way for the listener to see inner pictures and music that is trying to catch a feeling of both the present and the past - and their music is based on the same idea; ancient instruments meets today's modern music production!
Sareks new album "I natt ska marken skälva" will be released in August 2008. The productionteam Jens Engelbrecht (Swedish wellknown folkmusician and producer) and Leif Larsson (producer and songwriter who's for instance been working with Faith Hill, Louise Hoffsten, Ana and Björn Skifs) is behind Sareks new sound.
